Maple Farm Sanctuary is an
animal sanctuary providing lifelong homes for abused, abandoned and
unwanted farmed animals while promoting veganism and respect for all
life through public information. Maple Farm Sanctuary has taken in a
fraction of the billions of farmed animals that are bought, sold,
tormented and slaughtered by the meat, dairy and fur industries.
We would like to
thank
Whole Foods in Bellingham, MA
for their generous weekly donations of produce. The animals
love the
apples, bananas and grapes! We appreciate their
generosity tremendously!
We rely entirely on
your generosity to continue providing a safe haven for the animals living at
Maple Farm Sanctuary and for the new animals who are in urgent need of our
help. By making a donation you will help us to provide veterinary care,
improve housing, feed and maintain a happy life for the rescued animals
living at Maple Farm Sanctuary.
$10.00 of this purchase is donated
directly to Maple Farm Sanctuary.

Recently, on February 7th,
Cooks for Compassion held an
impressive fundraising gourmet dinner to benefit MFS.
Scrumptious vegan food and amazing people (chefs, volunteers
and friends of MFS) all came together to help the animals at
Cafe Evolution in Florence, MA.
The non-violence of a vegan lifestyle and the coming
together of such wonderful caring people raised $935.00 for
the animals at MFS. Jim and I have struggled for a number of
years to make MFS a better sanctuary. To improve the animal
care, increase the amount of rescues possible, to upgrade
animal enclosures and work on various modes of education
about animal rights, the environment, non-violence, MFS
future preservation and veganism. Donations of course are
always needed but to see folks come together on love, caring
and peace touches us deeply. Thank you all so much!

A
Special Thank You to the
Boston Vegetarian Society for
Offering
Maple Farm a table to exhibit at the Boston Vegetarian Food Festival!
With over 120 exhibitors, the Boston Vegetarian Food
Festival was two full days (10/31 and 11/1) of fun, good
food, and learning! It was a chance to explore and taste free
samples of a great variety of delicious, natural
vegetarian foods, talk to food exhibitors from all over
the country and locally, learn about the latest veg
products, and shop at "show special" discounts.
Book and cookbook publishers, educational exhibitors on
protecting animals and the environmental, and a
children's activity center round out the day. The Festival offered
a stellar lineup of national speakers and award-winning
chefs. Full details:

Our 4th
Annual Picnic Fundraiser was
Sunday, October 18, 2009
(Co-Founders Jim and
Cheri)
Neither rain nor snow
could stop visitors from coming out to Maple Farm
Sanctuary's 4th annual Picnic Fundraiser. On Sunday,
October 18th, the farm attracted guests from far and
wide to come partake in delicious food, listen to great
music, and even cozy up by the fire at Maple Farm
Sanctuary. Though the mid-October Nor'easter was a bit
of a surprise, the support and love for the farm and all
of the amazing animals was not!
The event kicked off at 1:00 and the party started right
away! The food looked amazing and tasted even better.
Large platters of veggies, hummus, warm homemade food,
soup, cookies, coffee and soy hot chocolate were served
to keep everyone toasty!
Simply Cake
Company even created an entirely vegan
four tiered chocolate cake drizzled with edible maple
leaves!
Volunteers created two bonfires behind the main barn and
guests began meandering down to keep warm and to listen
to the band playing at the nearby tent. While the silent
auction kicked off, there was a scenic nature walk
through the vast acres that make up Maple Farm
Sanctuary. As the fires heated everyone up, co-founder
Cheri Ezell-Vandersluis shared her powerful story about
how the farm came to be an animal sanctuary and the
importance of animal rights. The event was also lucky
enough to host Harold Brown, a former beef farmer and
founder of FarmKind who has made the transition from
animal based to plant based agriculture. Both speakers
were inspiring and informative.
As the fields became covered with beautiful snow, the
cows seemed at peace out in the pasture, and the event
came to an end. The 4th Annual MFS Fundraiser would not
have been a success without tremendous help from all of
the volunteers and sponsors. Many thanks to all of those
who came out to enjoy the day, some who even traveled
from NH, ME, RI and even CT!
