Jack
In June 2018, MFS took in three pigs as part of two rescues: Harriet and Jack, and Chester.
Jack, a potbellied pig, came to MFS with Harriet from a family who had taken in the two pigs but was no longer able to keep them. The family had previously rescued Jack from a hoarding situation, and when he arrived at MFS he needed veterinary care for cracked hooves and other health issues.
When Jack arrived at MFS he was a little over one year old. He can be distinguished from the other pigs by has solid black coloring as well as his less out-going personality. When Jack first came to MFS, we thought he was just shy, but we soon realized that wasn’t the case at all—he’s just ornery! Jack often prefers to do his own thing, and, unlike most of our pigs, he can’t stand being scratched and petted. If someone tries to scratch him he’ll throw a fit, but he will come running for his graham cracker treats.
