Mario, a pygmy goat, had been living with two other goats in a run-down shelter in someone’s backyard when a bear broke in and knocked down the shelter. All three goats escaped into the woods but, sadly, Mario’s companions were never found. Fortunately, Mario made his way back, and his guardians decided that he would be better off in a safe location with other goats. They contacted MFS, and we were glad to welcome him into our herd and give him a loving home in July 2018.
As Mario is a pygmy goat, he is on the smaller side, but that doesn’t stop him from standing up to larger goats. In fact, during his first night at MFS, he head-butted Chivo, the bossiest goat in our herd! Mario is also very friendly and will march up to barn visitors to be petted. He can be easily identified by his friendly nature as well as his long beard, a common feature of pygmy goats.
