Tyke was part of a small petting zoo at a local nursery, along with fellow goat Munchkin. In fall 2015, the nursery decided to shut down the petting zoo and did not want to care for the two goats through the winter because of rising hay costs. MFS stepped in to rescue the goats, who were already in their teen years at the time.
Despite their advanced ages, Munchkin and Tyke are still quite active and enjoy exploring and meeting visitors. The two can often be found lounging together in their favorite pen. Tyke often seems to feel the cold more than other goats in the winter, and as a result, he can often be seeing sporting a warm, comfortable jacket!
We lost sweet Tyke in the Fall of 2023.
